CHALLENGE 365 - 140/365 - WOYWW

MY DESK THIS WEEK

No, my simple desk is not like this all of the time.  For this photo, I have jumbled all my projects from the last two weeks on the desk's suface. There is my journal cover, almost finishd.  I want to add the date at least. Also there are four loose journal pages waiting to be added to the items that I will include in my journal.  I think I am almost ready to bind at least some of them.  I also have two ATC cards that I must mail today, my sketchbook, and a page of "business" cards that I want to carry with me when I go on a photo search.

This is where the projects are actually born.  My files, paper scraps, magazines, coffee, cat toy etc. Time to clean it all up now and start all over again.

Thanks for sharing with me.

CHALLENGE 365 -139 /365 - WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

FIRST TOMATO CROP

Oooops, what happened to this one.

We have to pick them just on the verge of turning red in order to get them before the greedy little birds do.  They have been watching them for weeks.

Thanks for viewing

CHALLENGE 365 -136 /365 - SKYWATCH AND FLOWERS IN MAY

LITTLE WATER PLANT FLOWERS
          and BLUE SKY

The white flower comes from that feathery water weed floating near the surface of the water.
Outside  of the roof's shadow, the blue sky and clouds
are reflected in the water.

Every place where a leaf touched the smooth dark surface of the water, the distorted image of the clouds and sky are reflected again and again.
This effect was a surprise I discovered when I centered on the flower and enlarged it.

Thanks for sharing this with me.

CHALLENGE 365 - 134/ and 135/365 - FLOWERS IN MAY

OLD FASHIONED LANTANA

Orange and yellow Lantana.  This one I purchased and planted in my "back forty" jungle.  It grew pretty much on it's own.  This year I cut a little snippet and am trying to make a new plant for a pot to complement the one below.

I have fond memories of this flower from my childhood. It grew almost everywhere on the Gulf Coast where I grew up.  I have always loved it's sharp "herby" aroma. The green berries that each blossom makes were perfect for putting in mud pies or for pretend peas.

I picked a clipping from a bush in a park nearby and after plucking off the bottom four leaves I planted it in some loose soil.  It took root and now is large enough to make a good cover of pretty pink and yellow "bouquets".

Thanks for viewing.

CHALLENGE 365 -133 /365 - ZEN GARDEN

BUDDHA IN MY GARDEN
           AND GINGER BLOSSOM

The Buddha in my garden.

This is my "nursery" spot.   Buddha watches over my sunset plumeria babies and a sickly petunia.

Ginger buds look like fruit until they open
and then they look like orchids.

Thanks for viewing.
